The OPGA Junior Golf Committee committed to the development and success of First Tee Programs in the state of Oregon. Through individual PGA Member and Apprentice support, leadership, and involvement, we hope to reach out and help as many young golfers as possible.
The OPGA Junior Golf Committee is offering a unique opportunity to gain teaching experience, obtain much needed MSR credit(s), and the opportunity to play in an OPGA Pro-Am for FREE!
The committee has requested that PGA Members and Apprentices alike donate a minimum of 2 hours of their time to one of these programs. In return, each individual PGA Member and/or Apprentice will gain membership on the Committee. In addition to their Membership on the committee, each individual will receive MSR(s) (1 MSR per hour of service, limit 8 per day) and a complimentary entry into an OPGA Pro-Am ($60 value – limit 2) credit(s). To get started simply contact one of the First Tee Representatives below and schedule a mutually agreeable time to help out. Once you have completed your time please let Ryan Clemens, Chairman, know as soon as possible. Please note, all service must be verified prior to receiving MSR hours and/or Pro-Am entries.

Interested in joining the committee?
The OPGA Junior Golf Committee has met and discussed ways to build on the successes of last year. We felt that last years committee made great strides and developed a great program that encourages PGA Professionals alike to support our local First Tee Programs.
In an effort to take that great idea one step further, we will be opening up the Junior Golf Committee to all whom are interested. All willing and able PGA Professionals & apprentices are encouraged to join the OPGA Junior Golf Committee.
Through your membership in this committee:
*You will meet other professionals and begin or continue to network
*Expose yourself to the inter-workings of the OPGA and it’s services
*Earn valuable MSR credits (meeting attendance, teaching)
*Get involved
*Give back to the game of golf
*Gain valuable teaching experience
*Pro-Am Entry ($60 credit)
It is the Junior Golf Committee’s belief that like most things in life we must lead by example. Therefore, all members of the Junior Golf Committee will be asked to donate 2 hours of their time to a First Tee Program of their choice in order to obtain their membership on the committee. If there isn’t a First Tee Program in your area, special arrangements can and will be made. In volunteering your time and expertise, you will receive an MSR credit for every hour you donate to The First Tee Programs and for committee meeting attendance. As an added incentive, by joining the Junior Golf Committee and pledging to give back you will receive an OPGA Pro-Am entry credit ($60 value).
